Hi, I’m Shanivi! I’m currently a research associate at Dana-Farber Cancer Institue, interested in cancer genetics and immunology. In May 2024, I graduated from Harvard College with an A.B. in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology, high honors.
I like exploring why and how things work in the spheres of science + medicine, and I’m planning to pursue a career that combines both research and patient care. I’m interested in oncology, and I’m particularly motivated by the following questions:
- In the context of rare cancers, such as tRCC, how can we leverage the genetic vulnerabilities and hallmarks of cancer to develop more effective therapies?
- How can we improve responses to cancer immunotherapy, and patient outcomes?
- What role does the immune system play in regulating cancer progression, specifically in terms of antigen detection and presentation?
- How do we better serve patients with serious cancer diagnoses, especially in terms of serious illness conversations (SIC)?
- How can we more effectively incorporate patients’ unique identities in the way we deliver robust care?
